Peer Group Chat // Creativity // Thursday 25th August 2022, 7-8:30PM AEST

Hi everyone!

 

Our next Peer Group Chat on Thursday 25th August 2022 will be on the topic of Creativity.


You don’t necessarily have to think of yourself as a creative person to benefit from creativity relating to your mental health! Being creative can be valuable for general self-care and wellbeing, connection with others, and as a coping strategy or outlet for expression of strong emotions. Join us for a peer-based discussion where we can share ideas, experiences, and learn from each other!

For those unfamiliar to Peer Group Chats, each focuses on a specific topic and is guided by Peer Workers with lived experience of mental health issues and recovery. A counsellor is also present to assist in ensuring a safe environment for individuals and the group. It is a space for us as peers to share our stories and experiences, and connect with those who are going through something similar. 

 

The event start times across Australia are below:

NT & SA: 6:30pm 

QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC & TAS: 7pm

Peer Group Chats are hosted outside of the forums, using a platform called Chatwee. 

To join an Online Peer Group and participate, you will need to register for an account with Chatwee.

To access the group to observe only and not participate, you can access Chatwee as a Guest.

On the night, follow this link to access Chatwee before the group starts.

You can join our Peer Group Chats every Thursday from 7:00-8:30pm (AEST).

Just a reminder that the PGC on Creativity will take place tonight, 7-8:30PM AEST 

 

As always, for ease of reference, times across Australia are in the graphic and listed below:

Western Australia: 4pm 

Northern Territory: 5:30pm 

South Australia: 6:30pm 

Queensland: 6pm 

New South Wales, Victoria, Australian Capital Territory & Tasmania: 7pm 

 

What To Expect:

  • What creativity is and what it might mean and look for us 
  • the purpose and benefits of creativity in our lives  
  • Barriers to being creative and how we might be able to overcome them
