Writing poetry thread

Sometimes I like to write (mostly short) poems that express how I'm feeling. Anyone else is welcome to join me here.

Please feel free to write any kind of poetry you like. It can be long or short. It can be about anything.

I only ask that you be respectful of other people's personal space and write poetry here only (no conversation please).

It's empowering for me

That I can write about

How I feel and what I want

It has taken me many years

To get to this point

I am my own woman now

About time, I say

I'm sorry that

You didn't understand

But it's really not my problem

Your comments make me feel

Empty and alone

Please stop trying to fix me

I'm not broken

Shaken up

dispersed

scatterd across wild terrain

I gather

I feel

remnants of

a wild brumby

broken

down

oppressed

into obedience

Re: Writing poetry thread

Be good

so they say

Yet I am not

Who they see

Me to Be

Shame clings

to me

like a drunken

toddler

high on

hand sanitiser

Re: Writing poetry thread

I miss you,I need you, thinking bout you any chance I get ,sometimes theres dreams of you other times memories bittersweet, life is a dance what we make of it is ours to choose, wether we live life happily or allow ourselves to feel bruised ,no room for regret ,no time to thret, just breathe and take each momment each memory as it comes, maybe sit and talk or maybe sometimes sitting in silence is better, always dream, always try,sad we never got to say proper goodbye, for now just breathe cause youll always be you and Ill forever be meHeart

Re: Writing poetry thread

Life can be but a dream One day here ,the next day gone far away,as if things are sometimes a maze always try to look forward despite the Fogs Haze ,theres always a choice turn left or veer right, the sky is Blue ,the grass is green and many things are yet unheard and unseen,a mystery a Journey just waiting to be travelled,a bridge to walk over,a calm gentle stream, the birds sing, the Dolphines swim,Echos of yesterday ,hopes for tomorow, distance and space can not erace that ever warm ever kind embrcaeHeart

Re: Writing poetry thread

Poetry can be a wonderful therapeutic way for expressing feelings and emotions.

Re: Writing poetry thread

It has taken me many years,

and those years have taken me,

been taken from,

me given to,

those years giving as good as it gets,

me giving good years to get this,

this crystal with it's unique new shape,

bonded together by transluscent glue.

As my scattered parts return,

this terrain enwildens me,

head to the ground,

hearing hooves of other brumbies,

slowly building to the spontaneous dressage of free ancient animals.

This breakdown has been building me up for a while.

Like trees feeding on tsumanis,

Like not wanting to ignore,

Like being on surrender's other side.

I've missed you all in all the ways in the world. Everyone one of full of miles and miles away from each others. Yet I could be face to face with you. Inches away with still countless molecules worth of void.  But when dreams touch.........

Re: Writing poetry thread

I hate labels

Labels help to distinguish your friends from your foes,

Your hands from your toes.

A label distinguishes you from me.

careless from carefree,

fate from destiny.

None of it matters,

a human being is all.

Some of us are big, and some of us are small.

Noone is exempt from a label.

Whatever you do with it, whether good or bad,

remember its just a label,

you are so much more than that.
