love those book marks @avant-garde. Thanks for sharing 🙂

@rav3n @tyme @Ru-bee the dream team! I hope y'all are having a good day today. Happy World Mental Health Day 😍

Heya @ENKELI ,

We're in a team together - you included!

Re: Morning Check-In

@tyme you will always hold a very special place in my heart, for you are the first community lead I interacted with. You were so kind and thoughtful (still are!) and I never forgot that. I adore the team but you're just a little bit special 🫂

Re: Morning Check-In

@ENKELI

@Jynx is special to me for the simple fact that they proved I can navigate conflict and disagreement and have a stronger (working) relationship as a result. They didn't give up on me even when I wanted them to give up.

Neither did you @ENKELI

Awwww.

Just seeing your growth since you've been on the forums brings so much joy to my heart. It makes everything worth it.

Sometimes, it hasn't been easy, but you've persevered and stuck in there. So proud of you.

If I had a green thumb, I'd also honour you with a plant... but unfortunately, it would look really bad if I said I have a plant in honour of you... and the next day, it was no longer....

My "designer succulents" are not so "designer" now... not even fit for compost.

Hugs @ENKELI

Re: Morning Check-In

@avant-garde @ENKELI oh my stars I am blushing so much 🥹 This means a lot to all of us I think. Thanks so much for your kindness.... I.... You know for once, I think I might be all out of words.... 💜

Re: Morning Check-In

@tyme aw, you are a darling! And I don't need a plant, knowing you're on my side is enough.

I didn't develop a green thumb until I was much older. I ended up giving a lot of my plants to my mum because otherwise I would find them no longer as well!

I think it's a God thing really. I use the time to spend with Him. Plus it's good to thumb my nose at my aunt (in a good natured way because I adore this particular aunt) as she didn't believe I could keep plants alive and always believed it was my ex friend who looked after our gardens. Ha!

I just spoke to your namesakes too, they are growing like weeds!

I am hoping to pick up a couple more plants on the weekend, either at Funnings or the garden centre my mum goes to.

Re: Morning Check-In

I was given an Angel's tears plant. I kept it at my other house and the owners are looking after it. When I go and visit, the plant is thriving and doing so well @ENKELI !

Re: Morning Check-In

@Dreamy? you awake?

Just had to send this to my elder...

I have been thinking a lot about the welcome dinner. [name] and I had discussed this the day of the soup and song evening when I was at their place overwhelmed and in tears. we arranged that whenever there was an event that she would make something I could eat because she understands the devastating hurt and distress I experience when my allergies are too difficult to cater for.
You see, I have been asked by the events team to bring my own food to any future events.
The type of intolerance I have was developed due to the abuse I endured during childhood and adolescence therefore incredibly distressing for me when they cannot be catered for or when it is requested for me to bring my own.
On such occasions it is wiser for me to not attend as the emotional consequences after such occasions is much too detrimental for my mental health.
As [name] won't be there due to the loss of her grandmother's, I regret to inform you that I will not be staying for the welcome dinner. I will drop off the fruit salad tins as requested and be promptly leaving, as even that will likely prove difficult for me.
I know my capacity and this decision is based on too many occasions of the alternative.
I hope you are able to understand and respect my decision.

Re: Morning Check-In

@avant-garde sorry my sweet I was sleeping but I've just woken up and read this now. I remember talking about this with you and the distress it caused you. Your letter I think is very well articulated and explains the situation perfectly. It frustrates me how they won't cater for you when they know of your allergies. How are you feeling after sending it?

Re: Morning Check-In

@Dreamy

I was relieved enough to finally fall asleep

I'm going to need extra support when I actually follow through with this tonight though...
