So my new pastor had us over last night and I got to talk to someone I hadn't connected with in a fair while (we'll call her Tiana*) who is also part of the events team at church...
We got to talking about the event the previous night and why I didn't stay... I was slowly honest about the conversation Gretel* had with me months before and learned that the forcefulness of the approach wasn't intended by the team and Gretel was making it a lot bigger than it needed to be. So Tiana and I talked and said it's not unreasonable for the team to have one dish I could eat, because that's all I needed, but Gretel had communicated that I was expecting all the dishes and everyone to cater for me.
NEVER have I been that inconsiderate because I know my intolerance can be difficult, I just want to be able to eat SOMETHING not everything.
So Tiana and I discussed what that would look like and that it meant just leaving dressing off salads and asking one person (which we know I already sorted) to cook something I could eat.
I think it's Gretel who sees me as inconvenient to cater for and just figures "she can handle this herself".
It just tells me that I need to push her away because clearly I'm a project and I'm too inconvenient to love.
I'm also wondering how much of her forcefulness came across in the quiz night feedback with how much supervision I apparently require.
She feels like a threat to my mental health.

@Chasingsunsets not much happening in my world. I am going to catch up with mum tomorrow and I want to do some tidying up in the house. The sock thread has made me want to sort my socks out lol!
I potted up the gerberas I bought and watered/fertilised all of my plants. I have to decide what I am going to do with my back yard as I'd like a nice landscaped area with a patio where I can sit with a cuppa. I'll be able to access my super in 3 years and I also have an inheritance coming from my father so I am doing research now to be prepared!
You're on holiday? Very nice. I hope the days don't go too quickly too, and you get to spend time relaxing and enjoying the time off 🫂🤗

@avant-garde oh sweet. I hear you. I agree that it's definitely not unreasonable for the team to have one dish for you to eat. I'm sorry you've been treated like this and made to feel the way you do but please know that you are never too inconvenient to love.
Sending you hugs my sweet ❤️
