Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Well done on achieving 3 hours, and starting somewhere new! @Dimity 👏

You helped me too today, so we've had a successful day 🙂

My folder of notes won't be an unpleasant reminder, as most of my nearly 20 years there were happy. But I will continue to think of somewhere I could put it.

I'm still waiting on one other possibility, but it's looking increasingly unlikely. I start on Monday 7th. Can't wait to get started.

Hope you can sleep well tonight 🤞

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi @Dimity , I'm bored and lonely and feeling flat without a volunteer job to do. I'm already missing the socialisation at work. I only did one hour on the house yesterday, just maintenance.

All I have on this week is one coffee with a friend.

I'm going to try to do some work today for the new role, learning the new database from YouTube and researching laptops online, just to get an idea of prices.

How is your week looking? Busy?

I hope you feel OK today and up to doing some work (if that's the plan).

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hello @NatureLover . No nothing planned today or any day this week, except perhaps home help. I'm bored, flat and lonely too, and yesterday like you only did an hour of basic chores. Looking at my ramshackle unit and garden is mildly distasteful but I'll try to potter through some tidying.

Last week's average daily screentime was as usual far too high so apart from looking at messages I'll try to stay off.

It's good you can start training on the

new database through YouTube. The laptop is a big financial commitment ...

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

@NatureLover I only got 2 hours work done. I'll try for more tomorrow.

I noticed the evening was lighter... a visible change. Hopefully it lifts your mood.

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

2 hours' work is good, @Dimity . Well done.

Is the evening lighter already? I wouldn't know, as I batten down the hatches at 5pm in winter. But that's good to hear.

Sorry you are bored, flat and lonely too! It sucks.

Do the home help not let you know they're coming well in advance?

My screentime has increased also. But thankfully a friend took pity on me yesterday and invited me out for lunch. No such luck today. I'm realising afresh all I've lost with having had a big, vibrant, busy office and organisation close by to work in. Lots of socialisation and meaningful work. At least before it turned toxic. Such a shame.

I've also realised I know nothing about laptops and need to do research on new ones before I can judge the prices of reconditioned ones.

I'm here to support you in your tasks today, if you want.

Hope you feel OK when you wake up...

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

I apologise for not replying this morning @NatureLover . I was miserable today. Cancelled home help for this week as I fell off the roster again and they could only offer an 8am slot. Eyes have been streaming at times but I just felt numb. Did a bit of cleaning and gardening. Walking was an effort.

I wonder if ACA and Choice have covered laptops. You might be able to investigate through your library.

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

So sorry you're feeling so miserable, dear friend 😥 @Dimity

No need to apologise as I'd hate for you to feel pressured to reply.

8am is a ridiculous time for home help!!

Why are your eyes streaming?

Amazingly well done to do cleaning and gardening when you felt so miserable.

Yesterday a friend invited me for a dog walk! (I'm scared of dogs) But I wanted to get out of the house, so I went. The dogs didn't jump up, thankfully, and I was so proud of myself. I think the well-behaved dog next door has helped my fear a little.

This morning I have coffee with a friend.

Thanks for the tip about ACA and Choice.

Hoping you feel less miserable today... Sending hugs 🫂

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Dear @Dimity , concerned for you, are you OK?

I'm guessing not 😥

Sending wishes and hugs 🫂 ❤

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hello @NatureLover until I saw a post just now about not getting notifications I hadn't realised I was missing out... and the system had also logged me out.

Well done on walking the dogs.

I've been low but I'm not sure why my eyes have been weeping. I went to the optometrist who made me feel ridiculous when I tried to explain how my sight had worsened. She said she'd write immediately to my specialist and I expect to be simply stigmatised for my MH.

I hope you've enjoyed the week off.

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Am relieved to see your post @Dimity . Was concerned about you.

Oh no re the optometrist! 😥 Deary me, that shouldn't have happened. 😡

It's a worry that you don't know why your eyes are weeping. Would an ophthalmologist help?

An empty week where I could've fallen into a slump turned into a busy week for me. I got the second small job on Thursday, the one that was my first choice, doing admin for a small charity about 25-30 minutes' drive away. Also I was given an old laptop by a friend yesterday! The laptop is needed for both jobs.

Both jobs start next week and I need to juggle them. Haven't yet worked out the days for each. The second small job will only be 2 hours twice a week. I'd rather it was 4 hours once a week, but oh well.

Dog walking today I think. Plus I need to tidy the house again.

Thinking of you with your eyes. 🫂

How is your back? Hoping you feel up to whatever you have planned for today...
