Re: My life has reached rock bottom

hello @Losinghope

Reaching rockbottom has been an experience I endured in my past and no words can describe how I felt. No words do it justice.

I imagine aside from sheer grief there is some much justified anger.

Talking to someone will ease some of the weight of those layers. You have too much weighing you down for you to handle on your own at this minute.

We all make mistakes, we are humans who do err whether we like that or not.

The fact that you acknowledge your mistakes speaks highly of your values.

So please value yourself for now, just focus on you and ring helpline to talk to someone.

you are in a safe place here

we will be waiting for you take care

Re: My life has reached rock bottom

@Losinghope. You are going through so much at the moment. No wonder you see things only in grey.
You could benefit from speaking to a counselor who has experience in grief and depression. I know what it's like to not 'connect' to a psychologist. Unfortunately it can take a few tries to find the right therapist that you feel comfortable enough to talk with. You could start by reaching out to your gp and asking for a referral.
It is just so hard to try and deal with depression and anxiety on your own. It is quicker and easier to ease your depression symptoms or recover fully from them with the help of a specialist.
Please try not to isolate yourself or self medicate - as I have done in the past. it just feeds our mental illness.
I'm glad you were comfortable enough to reach out here to us on the forum.
I hope you will find the strength to reach out and try professional help again.
I'm sorry you are hurting. Keep talking with us here. There is always someone available to chat with any time if the day or night.
You are not alone.

Re: My life has reached rock bottom

hello @Losinghope

help is available for you.

your gp can refer you to a psychologist under a mental health plan paid by medicare.

check if your gp will bulk bill you as well.

you can  get help it is out there.

keep writing

Re: My life has reached rock bottom

@Losinghope. I agree with @Former-Member.

When I first got sick a few years ago, I went to my gp. She did a mental health questionnaire - very quick and easy. and then she wrote me a referral to a psychologist under the free Medicare Scheme. When my sessions ran out - Medicare only fund about 6 sessions. He organised with Medicare for a further batch of free sessions through them.

So please don't let lack of money stop you from seeking help. As in my experience, financial stress just makes my depression, etc, so much worse, and my psychologist has helped me sort that out too.

Please let us know how you get on.

Re: My life has reached rock bottom

how are you feeling today @Losinghope how are you today @utopia

have you noticed any changes in the way you are feeling?

I know from past experience, even now when I get waves of that dreadful  depression, that when I actually am able to notice the feelings of depression I am on the first step climbing out of the mirky muck.

This has taken me a long time to get to this place. I have been practising very, very hard to live in the now.

losinghope I am reading the book "live in the now" written by Eckhart Tolle. Finding it very helpful for where i am at now.

I think this concept might help you.  Are you able to tell yourself that yesterday has gone, today is here, tomorrow hasn't yet happened. Therefore we only know about this very minute in fact that we are in now.

Have you thought about making the gp appointment for referral for therapy?

Sorry about all the questions.

@utopia you have just been through this very recently are you able to think what stood out the most for you in making that first step out of the deep dark. We all have our own names for it. Actually what name do you use?

keep on writing, ranting, raving, asking questions, posting pictures, quotes just responding

Living in the now.
