Lonely
I am so lonely. I have no family, no children, no friends, no partner and no pets (not allowed in this rental property). I did attend some social groups before social distancing restrictions but of course they have all been cancelled.
I see and hear everywhere, it seems, that for good mental health during this pandemic, keep in touch with loved ones etc. It just really rubs my face into the fact that I have NOONE!!!
It's not like you can ring Lifeline just to chat about how your day has been, unless you are upset and/ or mentally ill.
Things were hard enough before, but now that I am always stuck at home by myself I'm that much more lonely and isolated. The closest I get to socialising, is a call from a support worker.
I find that pretty much EVERYTHING, (films, TV shows, books, songs) triggers my loneliness and I end up sobbing. In "everything" there is a partner, friend, family, pet, co-worker etc. all the things that I wish I had, but don't.
There are probably some of you who are in the same boat, but I don't think that it's common to have absolutley noone, like me. We would definitely be in the minority.
Noone to call, text, videocall, email or even write to.
Even my Psychiatrist said that pills aren't going to fix my situation, and I get that. It's so frustrating knowing what I have to do, to improve my life, mood, situation, but because of Coronavirus restrictions and also where I live, I can't do those things. Those things will be challenging enough for me anyway. So shy and unconfident!
Maybe that will do for now.

Re: Lonely
Hi @SpiderLady , I can hear your distress. I think it's good that you've joined the forums as there are supportive people here. I know it sucks that all face-to-face activities have been cancelled, and there's no easy answer for that. And I'm sorry your loneliness is so painful that you can't use distraction techniques like TV and books.
I hope that you might find some relief on these forums. If you're a morning person, there's the "Good morning" thread, and if you are a night owl there's the "Night shift" thread. Those are just 2 examples of some threads to socialise on. You can also search for any topic or mental health concern using the search bar.
May I ask the origin of your username? No worries if you'd rather not say!

Re: Lonely
Hi @SpiderLady,
This must be so hard for you. I'm a single mum and find it hard. I'm fortunate to have family and friends to talk to but often feel lonely. I'm doing a TAFE course which is now online and a lot harder.
Anyway, I hear you and I'm happy to chat on here anytime.
😊

Re: Lonely
Hi there @SpiderLady
I am just checking in with you after reading your post from earlier and hoping that your evening is a little brighter. Yes Covid19 has really made it hard for many of us to reach out as we could before it all happened. You have shown a lot of courage to post on the forums with your experiences the way you have. It is good to see that other forums members have replied. If you are needing support off the forums there is the SANE Help Centre where we offer phone, on line chat and email support from 10am to 10pm weekdays. The number is 1800 18 7263.
Take care
Whitehawk

Re: Lonely
Hi @SpiderLady,
It is hard being a single mum but I just take each day as it comes. My 8yr old son who has behavioural issues is home schooled at the moment due to coronavirus but my 18 yr old has been helping when she can.
That would have been hard to come to terms with, not able to have your own kids. I send hugs to you.
No, my user name isn't because I like Prince's music, someone had the user name blue sky and purple rain was the first name to pop in my head, lol.
Hope your day has been ok?😊

Re: Lonely
Hi @SpiderLady , thanks for explaining your username. You are brave to read the books and watch TV etc. despite it making you so sad. I'm sorry to hear about your grief that you couldn't have children.
Have you found any thread on the forums here that interest you?
I understand some states in Australia are easing the Covid-19 restrictions slightly...is your state doing that yet?
