Re: Life and trauma

@Former-Member breath into a paper bag. Slows it down. Or put your hands to your chest and feel the rithym.

Re: Life and trauma

Oh noooo queues suck hey @Former-Member

I think cos it's a new experience, it's legit that it would feel doubly worrisome, especially with new meds. I reeeeaaaally hope you don't have to look at going to hospital but there's a modicum of safety to be found there I reckon. Cos like, I imagine that part of the distress is not knowing why, or whether it's 'normal' or whether it's due to the meds or something, right? So having medical staff around might help with that?

Tough call to make 😞

Don't forget the power of your breath!

I always feel a little like a broken record, like 'oh hey look at that, the MH professional is telling me to breathe again, surprise surprise'

But it does help! And making the exhales longer than the inhales literally slows down our heart rate. Whatever is happening in your body now, it will NOT last forever.

Re: Life and trauma

@Former-Member it is absolutely too much hun, it's your system in overwhelm. Doesn't mean you can't handle it - it may feel scary and like you're out of control. But nothing from your past can hurt you. You are here with us and you are safe.
